USER INSIGHT
Professional tattoo artists rely on tools that are not only technically precise but also express a sense of craftsmanship and personality. A tattoo machine is an extension of the artist’s hand, it must offer control, durability, and confidence in its performance.
The insight behind Brassline was to design a machine that reflects refinement, elegance, and mechanical honesty, while meeting the rigorous standards of professional use.
CONCEPT
The name "Brassline" represents the dual focus of the project:
“Brass” refers to the material used to highlight structural details, providing a visual contrast and timeless quality
“Line” refers to the machine’s ability to create sharp, consistent lines, essential for precise tattoo work
Inspired by the theme “Feinsinn” (subtlety or sensitivity), every design decision was made to enhance the feeling of control, precision, and elegance. The open coil structure was intentionally left visible, showcasing the machine’s internal logic and functionality.
DESIGN
The machine features a matte black body for a clean, understated look, chosen to convey elegance and subtlety. Brass accents highlight key components without overpowering the form, adding visual warmth and tactile contrast.
Its shape was refined with care, balancing aesthetic expression and technical function. Every curve and junction supports the fine-tuned performance expected by professional tattoo artists.
Rather than hiding complexity, the design embraces it celebrating the mechanical sensitivity at the heart of the machine.
